Sometime during your career, you may be asked to take a headshot.  Keep these tips in mind and your headshot game will be strong!

Aperture- You'll want to shoot as wide open as you can.  This will give you a soft ,creamy, blurred background and your subject will really 'pop'.

Light- Proper lighting is essential.  If you are shooting outside, a cloudy day will be your best bet as it will provide soft, even lighting.  If you have a bright, sunny day, look for areas of open shade to shoot under.

Relax- This is probably the most important tip of all. A relaxed model will take much better pictures than one who is nervous or uncomfortable.  One way to help your model relax is by making small talk or cracking a joke or 4; whatever it takes to get your subject to relax, open up and let their guard down.

There you have it.  Three quick tips that will ensure your next headshot session will be a success!
